It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

Happy Birthday, Moma!

Halloween time is also the season of my mom's birthday! We were lucky enough to have her birthday fall on a cold, rainy, Friday, fall night....so we all gathered in our comfies to say cheers to my moma on her birthday!
We had a cake...but she made her wish on a pumpkin pie!
My littles love her oh so much.....truly they adore her...and they are so lucky to have such an amazing Gran Gran!
As the night grew dark we fired up the inferno and told ghost stories.....
and made, fire lit Halloween memories.....

It was the perfect way to celebrate Moma and Halloween....Friends and Fall!

feeling the tug

We are down to the last few XC practices of the season.....
I can't count the times I have seen Riggs run back to me from this field as a Goshen Gator after a practice run....
but those days are now numbered....and I feel the tug on my heart....
I am pretty sure he feels it too.....

Billy Guitar

Sk had her first lesson with Billy guitar today! She is really looking forward to getting back in the playing mode!

Watkins Pumpkin Patch

Lila Ray went to the preschool pumpkin patch today and picked the cutest pumpkin I ever saw!

The school nurse had called for me to come get Riggs while she was at  school because he has an ear infection so he was with me to pick her up today. She was so surprised and so happy to see him..look how she is holding on to him...it was so precious...

So these 2 got some unexpected one on one time together today....it's the little things.....

drive to school

no...I didn't pin this picture form Pinterest...I actually took it with my phone on the way to school .
Beautiful right? I know we live farther away from the school than many, but some days..... like today...it's totally worth it!

The Dragon

We headed to the Dragon this morning to run in one of our last meets of the regular season. The season has gone by so fast!
yes...they are peeing in the field.....
they headed to the starting line.....
Big meet...the boys were still trying to maintain their undefeated streak...and Brandt was here....and Riggs loves Brandt but man do they battle.....
Quick prayer.....
and they were off......
Riggs had a great start......
and of all the Riggs/Brandt battles this one was the most epic to date..... it was back and forth...Riggs in the lead...Brandt in the lead....Riggs pulling back ahead.....

and Rollins just passing people left and right.....
as they entered the track to the finish line...Riggs was Rolling....
But so was Brandt......
Today it was a battle of guts.....and heart.....
and today...Riggs just had a little bit more to give...today the 5th grader beat the 6th grader...next time it may be Brandt...they seem to have a pattern going.....we were so proud of Riggs for digging deep and not giving up.
and my goodness...Rollins is coming on so strong here at the end of the season....he was on fire coming in to the finish.....

Goshen boy and girls won the meet today...but the most memorable part was that the trophy for the top finishers was an inflatable chair...a first for us! :)
The buds headed to the U of L soccer game after to celebrate a great day!

time together

We all seem to be going in 1000 different directions...even the littles. SK and Julia were able to squeeze a sleepover in during this Halloween season and they loved every second of their time together!

Back yard fall fun

We love our back yard...it hold so many memories all ready. In the fall we spend so much time playing football games there. This was one of the first big backyard games of the season!

Here's to many more football fun to come this fall!

The Zombie Run

We are clearing our minds before state so we decided to have some fun this week before we asked the kids to really focus! What better way to combine the season with XC than to host our first annual Zombie run!
We asked the team to dress up and I made gallons of hot chocolate and rode in the back of the truck to ensure no spillage all the way to Creasy!

We loved the Zombies!
But all costumes were welcome...that skinny tie dyed number is Riggs...with Jack and Sam
Costumes and all they still ran....
and had a great...but fun workout!
Mr. Rheinhart even made a guest appearance to practice!

Jeremy missed Mr. Rheinhart's visit all together...he always seems to miss him!

We hope the Zombie run will be an annual tradition!
