It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

Franklin county

We arrived at the beautiful Kentucky Horse park for the Franklin County Invitational!

It truly is Kentucky at its finest....it's just like out of a story book. Too bad this morning didn't read like a perfect story book......it was a rough start for sure.
When we arrived it started raining a bit...there was a thunder delay...it was cold and windy...but we got most of the stuff out of the truck for the long haul to the tent...except for the 96 hoodie for everyone on the team... and the "extra" bag of items for emergencies...probably wouldn't need those any way. I would have to get those in a few...can't carry it all...so loaded down we headed to the tent...Sk starts crying because she has to pee...Jeremy realizes he has locked the keys in the truck and goes back to the truck...on the way to the tent...Sk just pees...she just couldn't hold it any more and just pees....this is happening....I have 200 pounds of stuff to carry by myself and a sobbing 7 year old who has pissed herself...dear lord....slowly but surely.... in her pee soaked shoes..... sk and I make it to the tent....where she is crying....I want to cry....so very bad.....and 50 people come up to me wanting  hoodies I can't give them... Sk wants clean clothes....and guess what...the hoodies and the extra clothes are all locked up in the truck with the freaking keys inside.
Deep Breath
I found something for SK to put on and the lines to the port potties were too long so we found an old barn...went inside...she changed...I told her everyone pisses themselves at some time ( not sure if that was true but it needed to be said at the time)....hugged her....told her I loved her....and we were back on track....except for the hoodie crisis....but that would have to wait....

So starting over....So here we are at the beautiful  Kentucky Horse Park.......

we get ready for the meet.....

and Rollins is feeling good...he loves this meet!

He and E hung together.....giving it all they had....
But today Rollins finished first......
and Goshen boys took first place!

So proud of him....for running hard....

and for being an amazing team mate...he helped Preston at the start line today and Tyler at the finish line...such a caring boy....
Sk settled down and had fun with her friends....

and then had a great race herself...pee pants and all!

And Riggs......

He had a great race too.....
and the North boys came in first place!

We got the truck open thanks to Grandpa....After the day...I am not going to lie...a drink sounded good....so we all headed ti UK's campus to Ramsey's......and I ordered a bloody mary!
We ate, drank, and laughed about the day together...it was so fun!

I sure love my little runners and this crazy cross country world we are a part of!
As crazy as the day was...I would not have wanted to be anywhere else!

a day of nothing

“After all," Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”

In the crazy....go...go...go...days we have....we came across a day where the calendar was open...it was a miracle...and the most wonderful day of....nothing planned. I cleaned and organized and the littles were...well...little. My heart was happy.
They made forts......
 hammered nails on the deck.....
played pretend and make believe for hours with a bamboo stick they found in the yard.....
 loved a lot.....
and of course....got out the rainbow loom.
It was a wonderful...simple day....and I think we need it more than we even realized.....

Rolls

Right now Rollins is caught right between being little and being big. He can play and laugh and run around like he did when he was two but he can also hang with Riggs' friends ( when they let him ) :)
But he still remains the sweetest boys in the world....
The boy who comes home from the book fair with books for his sisters.....
and oh how he loves his friends....
Nothing makes him happier than having his friends all together to hang out and play any game with a ball! And the balls change with the seasons.....lots of football going on right now for sure!

He is just a wonderful boy!
I am so blessed to know and love him!

Trinity Meet 2013

It was time for the Trinity Invitational! Goshen top runners were there......
and Riggs and Jack decided to run unattached today!

The crew came to watch them!
and they had a great race!
Riggs came in second over all and Jack 3rd!
Rollins had a great race too!

The awards ceremony brought trophies galore!
The Goshen boys took first place!
and it was another meet that the Hardy boys were together!

Rumble 2013

Oh sweet Rumble....we just love this meet! It has so many good memories attached to it!
When I close my eyes this is what I see at the Rumble....finding this precious peanut at the end of the shoot....all smiles....so proud...after running his first Rumble (deep sigh)
It truly is the best meet...it's like you can truly feel the energy in the air!I spent Friday helping set up the course and loved catching up with some of my XC friends.

Riggs was excited...he LOVES the Rumble! His friends were there to cheer him on!
and so was Jordyn....so sweet.
and of course...Jeremy and me...we could not wait for the Rumble to begin!

This team means something to him already....
I love how they pray and cheer before every meet.......
He had a great start....
and he looked good...like he was back to the runner he wanted to be....
He just kept passing people and when he came out of the woods he was first on the team!
and he held that spot....and gave it all he had....
all the way to the finish line.....
He was happy....
I was so proud.....and it was a great start to our day!
So now we were ready to focus on Goshen.....

and one little guy in particular......
Rollins was an emotional basket case before he ran....he is not handling the pressure of he and Ethan being so competitive well...it's really causing him a lot of stress and I just hate that for him....
But off the gun went.....
and the race began.....
He had a great race.....
and although he was close.....today E got him....so Rollins shed tears before, during and after the race....
But then took a breath.......
and seemed to let it all go....
and SK....well she ran her heart out!
and was happy to be part of the team and with her friends!
We are so proud of her!
we waited for the awards.....
and were pleased as punch that Goshen came in first place.......
and so did North!

As far as Rumbles go....I'd say this was a pretty good one! Happy Rumble!
