Getting ready to run!

 We went to the course walk through today and as we entered Disney's ESPN Wild World of Sports complex I think we all realized this was a big deal. The facilities were amazing...and beautiful and fancy. From the moment you entered the park it felt special. There were Sports Center TVs displaying the AAU National Meet coverage and Riggs wondered if he would be on that TV tomorrow.


He jogged the course..which was awesome! He would be running in some sand..which was a new terrain for him, but it was really flat. He got a little confused at the end..he wanted to keep running ...but his race is just a 2K. This confusion set his nerves off a little and he got teary and angry. We let him settle down and alone Jeremy, Riggs and I walked the course again...and let him visualize it in his own way. After that he was much better.

That night we met for a pasta dinner with the entire team, he got his number and chips and everyone was excited!

 
 
 We settled down for the night and Riggs fell asleep watching Secretariat in all his greatness!
