Boys Movie night

New school year...new friends!

Tonight the boys invited classmates.... which were new and old friends.... over for a movie night. I love getting to know the new boys they are talking about and I love seeing them make new friends!

We had quite the crew even though I never got a picture of the whole group together! They were wired for fun and full of energy!

It was a night to bond with new friends.....

and a night to make deeper connections with friends they already know and love.....

They played...and they played! Boys being boys and having a ball!

Soccer.....

The sounds of a backyard full of boys...it's one I love! They are so full of energy and so full of joy! Just give them a ball and they are happy! Old and new friendships growing with every laugh!

It always feels good to be victorious! I felt just like this tonight...like I had done something good for the boys!

We settled down for popcorn, cookies and drinks as it started to get dark....finally it was almost showtime!

We watched Mars Needs Moms.....

As true darkness settled in we did smores too!

It was a fun night! I loved seeing the boys so happy and I am so thankful for the friendships they have found in their classmates!

Welcome Spring!

It's official! Spring is here! Today was the first day of spring and it could not have been more perfect! We stayed home all day and enjoyed the beautiful day...and our friends and family cycled in and out all day long!  After Colin left from his sleepover...Ryan called and asked if he and Reagan could come over so we had back yard soccer...and time with these boys!

 Uncle Gary is in and he and Mamaw stopped by for a visit...it is always so good to see him and any time you get to love on Mamaw is a treat!

 The Brothers could feel the change of the seasons...and seemed to have an extra bounce in their steps today...they were outside all day long.....these two truly are the best of friends.

 The Timmerings popped over for a visit with sweet Sam...and we were so happy to see them!

 Nana, Landon and Mom were here for supper and that was a fun visit too....Lila loved having Nana read The Monster at the End of This Book .....a book she used to read to me when I was little.

 And the boys loved having Nana join them in the back yard too!

 It was the perfect...feel the Spring in the air and the warm days to come kind of day!

 Even Jack discovered the fun of fetching a good stick...and how chewing on it in the shade felt good too.

 I put Spring up inside the house.....

and look what is blooming in the back yard!!!!

It's here and we welcome it with open arms! Happy First Day of Spring! Spring makes my heart happy and full of love...it's revived...sending love to everyone and wishing you more spring days to come!

Rain...a good rain

Jack's invisible fence was installed today...and the day had been warm...but as the afternoon came the skies clouded up and it rained...the the rain was warm...and the boys and Ashton ran laps around the flags outlining the yard...getting drenched...and loving every minute of it!

 The rain was nice...and a far cry from the cold, depressing rain of the past month..this was spring rain!

 It was so nice to see Riggs, Rollins and Ashton play together...as they get older...and more busy...this play time in the back yard seems to happen less often. It warms the heart to see them all together...laughing....without a care in the world!

 And something about Riggs and the wet hair...I just think he is extra handsome...I just do...I think the same thing after he walks off the soccer field all sweaty or when he finishes a cross country race....he is such a beautiful boy...inside and out!

one of the reasons...

It's 9 pm on a Saturday...we are tired from the day...and from sleep overs the night before. Riggs...out of no where...asks if we can have a bonfire...which means can we have a fire in the fire pit. My mind says no...it's late and we don't have the stuff to make it special...no smore ingredients...not even big marshmallows...only little ones. We are not prepared...but before I can say let's do it another night when we have all the stuff....Jeremy says sure. So they gathered around while he broke up a board for wood and they set off into the dark to gather sticks from the yard.

 It was windy but he finally got it lit....and it as beautiful and warm....

 no smores...no marshmallows....jut a fire and some happy kids....

Just a gentle reminder that you don't always need the stuff.......they were happy with just the fire...watching it move and dance...and how the smoke shifted with the wind....that's one of the reasons I love Jeremy......he says yes just to the fire...and tonight that is all they needed.
