It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

Mary Poppins

For Christmas one of our gifts from Bumpa was a Mary Poppins day! We all got tickets to go see the musical! On the way there Rollins threw up in the truck so gran gran had to pick him up....that sweet boy was still smiling even though he felt so bad!
We were all very excited...especially the girls who know the songs...they were excited to get their spoon full of sugar on!

We settled into our seats.......

and soon it began!
I promised little missy a coke at intermission and she held me to it......
We really enjoyed it......it was Supercalfraglisticexpialadoucious!
After we headed to the river to eat and enjoy the beautiful day!

I love watching Riggs with Lila....he is so protective and sweet with her.....
The sunshine felt so good!

It was a great day...the only thing missing was Rollins.

Early release

We had our first spring early release day from school! We started at the Comfy Cow for creamy deliciousness...and then headed home to meet up with more friends to play outside all afternoon!

Marching into Spring....

I love March....it bring with it the hope of warmth and sunshine and it is full of happy things!
Derby and Easter hats magically appear in the stores and call out...buy me...love me!
Love, our mother Dove, returns to our deck every spring to bring new babies into the world....
This spring she will welcome 2 babies...which, in honor of the Month of March, the littles have already named...Clover & Calipari

Every day you look outside and a new, beautiful treasure awaits in bloom!
Sandals and flip flop come out of hiding....
and are kicked off to jump on the trampoline or to run in the grass.....

and some days even call for sunglasses...and the warmth of the sun feels oh so good in spring....because you have missed it so....
But most of all basketball fills our thoughts and our time! Brackets are filled out...taped up and highlighted and we play basketball from sun up......

 till sundown......

This night it was Riggs and Rollins versing Jeremy and me...it's amazing how much fun a slab of concrete with a goal can be...I just love how all the elements of March come together to bring us all together even more!
and as always.....Go Cats!

if you can't beat em....

We have had the rainest spring ever...seriously..it is like we live in Seattle. It has rained buckets....and buckets and we have waited patiently for the sun....mostly inside. Today the boys and Ashton just couldn't take it any more and as the rain fell in sheets they ran...and the more they ran the wetter they got...and the wetter they got..the more joyful their giggles were!

Rollins got so crazy we even tried to lick the rain off his own face!  They had a ball! Good for them for not resenting the weather and just enjoying what they have...if you can't beat em...join em!

Meet Moma Dove

This spring a Moma and Father dove tried to build a nest in the hanging flower container that hangs on the deck...right outside the door. It is a door we go in and out of all the time. When they started building I removed the start of their nest the first chance I got...and put a box in the container so they would build somewhere else. Although I enjoy the doves...I wanted to be able to go in and out of my door without being chirped at and swooped upon...so I just encouraged them to build somewhere else. They disappeared for about a week...and then she showed up on the deck railing...so fat with eggs. She looked at me...literally right in my eyes and I could see she was desperate for a soft place to call her home...it felt like Mary and Joseph. So with a sigh, I let them move into the container. She sits on her eggs all day and night...and he brings her food...it is lovely to watch them care care of the eggs and each other.
This moma is something else...sometimes I feel like she is looking right into my soul. So far she has been a sweetheart...and never chirps or swoops when we go outside...that may change when the babies arrive...so for now I am happy to have her...everyone needs a soft place to land sometimes.....
