It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

Marching into Spring....

I love March....it bring with it the hope of warmth and sunshine and it is full of happy things!
Derby and Easter hats magically appear in the stores and call out...buy me...love me!
Love, our mother Dove, returns to our deck every spring to bring new babies into the world....
This spring she will welcome 2 babies...which, in honor of the Month of March, the littles have already named...Clover & Calipari

Every day you look outside and a new, beautiful treasure awaits in bloom!
Sandals and flip flop come out of hiding....
and are kicked off to jump on the trampoline or to run in the grass.....

and some days even call for sunglasses...and the warmth of the sun feels oh so good in spring....because you have missed it so....
But most of all basketball fills our thoughts and our time! Brackets are filled out...taped up and highlighted and we play basketball from sun up......

 till sundown......

This night it was Riggs and Rollins versing Jeremy and me...it's amazing how much fun a slab of concrete with a goal can be...I just love how all the elements of March come together to bring us all together even more!
and as always.....Go Cats!

March Madness is in full swing!

It's true.....
After I attended the University of Kentucky and celebrated 2 National Championships on the streets of campus and experienced the heartbreak of one runner up year..I truly became a Kentucky basketball fan..and I am so glad I did. Jeremy and the boys are die hard...they just are...and so instead of rolling my eyes....and not getting it...I get to be just as excited as they are for March Madness and UK basketball...and be a part of it all...and I love it...oh so much! We were so excited that the Cats were coming to Louisville for the fist round of the tournament this year and when they announced an open practice I jumped at the chance to take the boys!
I stopped and got yummy basketball cookies from the Homemade Pie Kitchen...
Jenna and I picked up Ryson and Ryan and  the kids up from school and headed straight for the YUM center!

There were not a lot of people there so we got right down on the floor!

 and waited for the Cats!
By the time their practice time was up...the place was packed with BLUE and white! Can you believe Kentucky fans can fill up a huge arena for a 30 minute shoot around!
and they cheered and yelled just like it was a game!

When the team came it the crowd went crazy! Everyone was so excited!

Unfortunately for us...we were by this huge U of L posse that had waited 2 hours just to be able to BOOO when the Cats came out.....really? If you have that much extra time...go volunteer at the mission down the street! It was so annoying..and my boys were so taken by it...I hated that it took away front heir excitement...

But we talked about it and got refocused on the positive!
It was amazing to see these great players in action.....

The boys were in awe....they watched the players....and I watched them take it all in!

The Cats looked happy and relaxed.....I hope that is a good sign for a good tournament!

As they came together at the end of their time...I wished them god luck and I couldn't help but hope we were looking at a National Championship team....the boys would absolutely love that.....that would be so fun for them! But you never know...ANYTHING can happen in March! Anything!

So Go Cats! We will be wearing our blue....making our queso and cheering for you every step of the way!

March Madness

It's March...and you may be hanging a shamrock in your house but in our house we celebrate March with basketball...in a very big way...and it is so much fun! When I flip the calendar from February it just brings a smile to my face...just thinking about all the fun ahead!

It's rushing home from school to throw together a celebration for the first game of the SEC tournament...
It's listening to Coach Cal and hanging on his every word...because although we are celebrating basketball...make no mistake... we are specifically all about Kentucky basketball!
It's cheering...Oh C-A-T-S.....Cats. Cats, Cats...and holding that number one finger up every time we win! Because we are still in...and get to do it all over again!
It's basketball 24-7...it gets in our veins...it's shooting hoops right before bed...in pajamas...
and first thing in the morning...in pajamas...because it is March...it's March Madness, baby!
It's sharing the whole thing with your best friends..whether they eat, breath and sleep U of L...
or if they bleed blue like you....
It's breaking out the game day napkins...
the game day ice bucket...
and wearing the right game day attire from the tip of of your head....
all the way to your bottom.....
It's making game day food like our traditional queso...and making Go Cats treats because you are hopeful you will celebrate a win with every game! And since it's tournament time we go all out and make cupcakes and cakes...because God forbid you chose to make only one..and that was the reason you lost! ;)

It's decorating the kitchen with brackets...and following every game...every day...it's just so fun! This year Sarah Kate and Jeremy are extra hopeful and have Kentucky going all the way...Riggs and I have Kansas, and Rollins went with Ohio State....Lila, my friends, picked a long shot and has US Santa Barbara winning the national championship...but hey..it's tournament time...March Madness...and anything can happen! It's just so fun and we enjoy every second of it...it's something we do together...and something we love! Bring on the March Madness....the SEC tournament was oh so fun..and we are full of happiness and hope heading into the big tournament...win or loose it's a ball....and to all those who bleed blue like the Hardys...Go Cats!!!
