It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

Tight

The day Jeremy got the "M" was seriously one of the happiest days of his life. He can tell you the details of this day like I can tell you the birth stories of my children. It was a dream come true....an accomplishment....something he had always wanted. And if he said it once he said it a thousand times...I will never get rid of this car. I love it that much. He has four beautiful children and yet a picture of this car is his iPhone screen saver.  He has always been like that with his cars...but with this one is was much more.
but things are tight....and will be getting tighter and so Jeremy made the heartbreaking decision to sell  the "M"....right now there is just no other way.
I watched him clean this car for two days....and every time I cried.
Cleaning this car inside and out...one last time...was his way of saying good bye.....and I know it's just a car...but I am telling you it was heartbreaking...

He said the last thing  to do before he turned it over to the new owner was peel his Iron Man sticker off.....
The M sold in 4 hours and was gone in the blink of an eye.....
and now we own a used Prius...a cheaper car...with great gas milage......and his screen saver is now someones else's car.....
I am proud of him....of us...we are putting the family first...and doing what we can keep up even when it's tight. It's all these little struggles that make you stronger...pull you together...so you know love and feel love and can hopefully get through the big ones when they come.
But as long as the sun is rising over the Hardy house and 6 heartbeats still beat within it...life is good.
Things may be tight...but then again....so are we.

The wait is over...

The phone rang today and it was Jeremy saying he was looking at his baby right now... He had gone to Cincinnati to pick up his car so tonight we members of the Zermatt Court "M" club...gathered in the court to welcome Jeremy's car...the car that had been on quite the adventure...the car he had worked so hard to get...and waited so long for....the "M" was coming home.
As the first bit of darkness came...we heard the purr of the engine....
and Jeremy.....in his car...pulled into the driveway for the first time...as the littles waved and cheered!
Jeremy Christ was there too and as Jeremy got out of the car...all smiles....the Jeremys shook hands! Two fellow BMW lovers sharing a moment...
 It was home...
 It was his....
He was happy and proud to show it off...engine to trunk...the wait had been long but he is in love! I am worried I have been replaced..he calls it his baby...and Jeremy Christ said she was hot....How can a  D compete with an M? I think I'll just try to embrace having another woman in his life....I just wish she could help with the laundry! ;)

The littles checked it all out too...and Riggs gave it the seal of approval...saying it was in fact...Beast! Coming from Riggs that is the highest compliment!
Looking forward to many adventures in the "M"!

Jeremy's worst nightmare....

Amidst Jeremy's job and Ironman training he also found himself on the search for a new car. Getting a new car is a BIG deal for Jeremy...because he loves him some cars in a fierce way!  He really wanted to get an M3 BMW....but it had to be just the right one. On our budget it can't obviously be new...and then there was a whole list of other specific items that had to be just right...all the way down to unique BMW paint colors that would be acceptable. The search was long, but he was focused and finally found "the one" in Corpus Christy, Texas....very, very far away. He researched shipping companies and for day and days worked on how to get it here ...safely..in perfect condition...and in such a manner that no one would drive it but him until it reached our door step. Once that was taken care of, like a mother preparing for a new baby....he started to nest! He had a trim carpenter come and build a special box in the garage for all the kids' loose toys and ball so they had a specific place...and would not be a cluttered mess around "the M".  He wanted the garage perfect before the arrival of this car so after church he started to organize and somehow I got roped into helping. We had a lot of work to do!
It was hot and I didn't really want to be doing this...I had so many other things on my list.... but as I was cleaning up the table I saw his paper from where he was drawing with SK.  He has been so focused on this car...and it means so much to him...kind of like a dream come true....so I opened my heart and got on board fully. The music was on...things were being organized and I was actually spending time with my husband...life was good!
Then the phone rang...and Jeremy answered it.....
He spent the next five hours walking around the house on the phone..tryng to figurine out what happened. In short..the guys who drive the delivery truck picked up Jeremy's car but instead of delivering it they parked the truck at a hotel...got Jeremy's car off and had been driving around Corpus Christy for 2 days. They smoked in it...ate in it...spilled coffee in it...scratched it up a bit...and got pulled over by a cop and it was sitting on the side of the road, running, in Texas. Upset doesn't even begin to describe Jeremy.....
I cleaned the garage by myself....it was a very long day.
