Down Time

This weekend we were craving a little down time. With school, soccer, cross country, guitar, ballet, and hip hop back in full force we were tired. Riggs went off to hang with some friends and I took the other three littles off the couch for some nice quiet time by the creek.

 Something about the sound of water.....

 It's just good for the soul....

 We enjoyed our hour or so by the water.....and then headed back home for warm baths and more cuddle time on the couch.

Sometimes you just need a little down time......

and then there was one....

Riggs, Rollins and Sarah Kate are back in school and now it is just me and Lila Ray. We are really missing them...but we are also enjoying our time together. We have been so busy! This morning we ran to 10 different places and she just rolls with it! She loves to help!

But we also try to take a few minutes from our day...usually before the bus comes....to play together. We tall and laugh and we both just eat up this time. Sometimes we play barbies...sometimes we swing at the park...today we traced our bodies with sidewalk chalk...it's always her choice.

I just try and not get so busy.....because I am always behind....and never caught up...to not take the time to really appreciate this sweet face every day.

Today my heart is heavy....and I am full of a gripping feeling...as I cling to these words...

Our amazing worship leader at church...sweet Matt....a man so full of love and warmth...whose voice was full of prayer...was in a car accident this week...he went into surgery to fix his broken pelvis and died on the table...his journey on earth has ended...and he leaves behind his precious wife and 3 children...and a lot of broken hearts who will miss his love, laughter, and praise.
Time.  It is so precious...so fleeting....so enjoy Every. Single. Moment.
