Last week was a blur...one day bled into the night...which blurred into a new day...it was a week of little sleep...and physical and emotional exhaustion...for too many reasons to say.I have lots to blog about and I promise to get caught up...when I get caught up on a few other things....like sleep....
and the dishes.....
Wishing everyone a beautiful Monday...and the start to a happy week!

Long day...happy heart
"Service comes naturally to us when we love and accept ourselves on a deep level. Our love bubbles up and overflows to those around us. We find our greatest satisfaction and fulfillment in making contributions to the world in ways that are uniquely our own. Service is the practice of wholeness."
-Molly Young Brown
I would be lying if I did not tell you that I pretty much spend my life sleep deprived and exhausted. I get up at 5:30 almost every morning and go nonstop giving myself to my family and the people I love all day long. I give my time, my brain, my spirit and my heart to making this family, and the ones I cherish most, happy. Most days I feel like there is not enough of me to go around. I have never laid my head on the pillow and felt that satisfaction of accomplishing every single thing I wanted to accomplish that day. At the end of every day I am spent...depleted...empty of energy and low on fuel...but most days I can tell you that although I am empty of some things I am full of others...like love and knowing I tried my best that day to be a good person....a good friend...a good wife....a good mother. I am lucky and blessed to go to bed most nights with a happy heart and tired eyes.
And every day there are small but meaningful victories...like today Sarah Kate mastered the art of flicking ...she can flick now, friends! She was so proud....
And it was a long day like most of them...but I shut my eyes at almost 2 am with a happy heart...and smiling as I thought about my sweet little girl and all the things she might flick in her life...now that she can.

Beyond Tired....
Whirlwind....non-stop....exhausting...somehow our weekends have gotten to be more busy than our weeks!
Friday after the kids got off the bus....(take a deep breath)...soccer practice, birthday party, up till 1 am getting things ready for Saturday, up at 5 am to get us up and ready for the day, drive to Trimble Country for a cross country meet, back to Louisville for soccer games, drive to Lexington for UK game, home at 1:30 am, up at 6 to get ready for Sunday, American girl Fashion show, soccer games, flag football, second soccer game, dinner, grocery...tired so tired and for the icing on the cake as I unload the groceries in the parking lot Lila throws up burrito, Cheetos and chocolate all over herself and the truck.....I clean it up and get them home for a bath..I am tired..trying to smile and be patient with them...if I can just get them clean and in bed before the tears start that would be great.
I put them in a nice warm bath and get them clean and smelling of vanilla.... and as I lotion Rollins up he says " I had a great weekend but I would like to spend some time with just you, Moma" ....heart melting love...tired and smelling of throw up he still loves me! God love him! God love all four of them for loving me so much.....

It was still a little early for bed so they played and laughed all together...just home and happy for a while before bed. Hearing their sweet giggles...and the happy harmony of brothers and sisters took the edge off as I cleaned the throw up off of the car seat straps and stripped it off for the laundry. Truly the laughter of a child is the light of a home.

And all was well....until Rollins got hurt...as usual! And then it was kisses and off to bed for them and off to get ready for another week for me!
