see with your heart

I see it every day..people seeing what they want to see...or jumping on a band wagon with someone else who supposedly saw something...heard something....and we judge....and we talk and we label...and we create distance and walls between people.....and many times for no reason at all. I think sometimes we see only with one view and the scary thing it that sometimes that view is not even ours...it's a view someone told us about...whispered in our ear. When you hear things and see things..take just a moment to see them with your heart too. SO many times my heart has allowed me to take a step back and see things in a new light. Times when someone has told me something about someone....something bad..... and I hear them...I really do....but when I close my eyes...I see this person full of goodness...putting others first....living a life of kindness...and I am able to see that person with 20 goods that I have seen with my own eye versing 1 bad that I never saw at all. This works in the other way too...sometimes I am able to see 20 selfish acts with my heart verses 1 genuine act of kindness....but this is rare. My mom to this day still calls me Pollyanna for a reason. The heart truly can see beauty and love more than the eyes can ever wonder....just try to remember that...try to see with you heart....and enjoy the love and warmth as opposed to the coldness of distance and walls.

North Oldham Cup

It was a beautiful night for the annual North Oldham Cup! The kids love this meet! They know the course....the competition...and a picnic with lots of cake awaits them when it's all over!

So let's go Gators!

 Right away it was a Votow and Hardy battle!

But Riggs Hardy got the win and even took 9 seconds off his Rumble Course record!

 Rollins had a great race too!

 We headed off to awards......

 and the Gators pulled out the big win...both the girls and boys placed first and the North Oldham cup goes back home to Goshen!!

We ended the night with a team picture and picnic fun!

Oh how I love this team........

This is so me.....our laundry is endless and sometimes mountainous....and many loads I wash 2 or three times....

Coloring at Creasy

While the boys ran on this beautiful fall day...the girls and I colored...Hello Kitty pictures. We talked and discussed every item on our pages to color and in between the perfect color pics we talked about our days...our friends...and how excited we were for fall.

 I love these girls.....these sisters.......

 They truly could not be more different......

 and yet.....although they fight like sisters at times.....the love they share and the bond they share is....real....genuine...

 When I see them together in moments like this.....I feel so blessed that they have each other......

 and that I have them......

 Happy Fall, sweet girls......

Pinky Promise Press

The T shirt press is up and running....finally!

The first shirt I pressed was for my Moma...

and I then I pressed one for me.....

 and one for Jenna...for her OC Tiger spirit wear wardrobe!

 I can't wait to really get going... Jenna and I are looking forward to lots more pressing...I pinky promise!

Lambert visits

We met up with Lambert after a 10 year hiatis this Saturday. We spent all day and into the evening hanging out with him. It was so nice to catch up. I love friends that you can see...and pick up right where you left off. That is special...it was like we just saw him yesterday and not a decade ago.

first & last

Today was the first day of Lila's last year at Watkins preschool......

 She was so excited to go with Jazmyn!

 She was ready from her head.....

 all the way down to her toes.....

 I teared up as Mrs. Shaw opened the door for her to welcome her back....for the first day of preschool...one last time...

 She is big...it's official! She had a great day and loved sitting at the table after school doing homework with SK!

Trinity Meet 2012

 We were all smiles...it was Friday and we were at the big Trinity XC meet! The boys were messing around...

 and hanging out....

 and then it set in that the competition at this meet was good...really good...and that they would be versing 6th graders for the first time....

When that gun went off....I did not have a good feeling.....

 Riggs didn't get out as well as he can....and well...the 6th graders are good...and some of them are just big....he tried....he really did....

But today his gut and  his heart could not get him past a few of these 6th graders...

But he gave it all he had right to the finish line....

 and so did Rollins....

 Today they both crossed the finish line in tears.

Today they got beat by kids they usually don't finish behind.

Today was life.

But...we were proud that both boys had PR's today and bettered their times in amazing ways!

Rollins was excited to share his race with the Noon boys and Braden....

 We are proud.....we tried hard....we gave our best...let's see those smiles! And really....am I lucky or what....I live with these handsome guys!!

It also helped that we finished the night with trophies!

Boys came in first and the girls came in third!

Football fun

We watched the second UK game of the season in style!

 It was a cozy, fun, fall night!

Football season!

Well football season is finally here! It's still warm outside but there are sweatshirt days ahead...I can feel it! We welcomed the season with the UK UL football game!

 We dressed in wildcat gear but after the long week we were all so tired so we had a date with the couch in our comfy clothes!

 It was the perfect chill night.....with the Timmerings....

 The Cats are not the best this year but we rooted them on anyway!

 This year Jenna was the one smiling at the end of the night!

Oh well....let the football season begin!
