It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

UK tour

I forgot to add this post after the boys had their soccer tournament in Lexington...but it's worth adding for sure. In between games the four games we played we took the boys on a tour of the University of Kentucky campus....it was a trip down memory lane for sure...

Hello ChiO!

 Kennedy Book store....
The Sigma Alpha Epsilon house too...

We saw the library, fraternity row, the towers, Ramseys, Two Keys....and the list goes on and on.....Jeremy and I talked the whole time ....as memories flooded us being back on campus...and the boys just took it all in....they asked lots of questions too! I loved sharing this with them! It was fun to think about how much fun they will have when they go off to college. It's such a rite of passage...all those freshman...figuring it out...together...I loved every minute of it! Some day that will be them...but for now I am happy to have them snuggled in their bunk beds under my roof every night.....college will come soon enough.

United soccer try outs

The littles and I headed out to Floyd's Fork for  United soccer try outs tonight! I begged and pleaded and killed them with kindness....and they finally relented and let Riggs and Rollins try out for their first level of a competitive team...Riggs was fine but with Rollins just turning 8....I had to really put my heart on the line to even  convince them to take a look at him....the girls and I waited with fingers crossed...just hoping they would give little Rollins a chance.....

The boys tried hard....both of them.....

They love soccer....even after the try outs ended...they stayed on the field...just the two of them...playing...just like they were in the back yard...
This was night one of the two day try outs....and as the coach left the field I thanked him for his time and  especially for giving Rollins a chance...he told me right then and there that he would for sure offer them both a position on the team....
I was so happy...especially for Rollins who just wants to play...even though he is only 8...and even though he is little...Happy Moma....Happy boys!

He's back!

This summer has been about Riggs a bit...Riggs is the one who took to swimming on the swim team and Riggs has been preparing for cross country this summer too. It was so nice to get Rollins back on the soccer field tonight! As we pulled into Floyds Fork Park we geared up for United Soccer club!
I dropped him off and watched from afar as he worked and drilled with his new team....
Being so far away, I was unsure how he was doing...but the minute his face came into focus as he ran to me I could see my sweet, soccer playing boy was happy!
Soccer and this boy get along just fine!
He's back...with short hair...but he is back!

Rollins Alexander Hardy is 7!

Rollins woke up on his birthday a happy boy! He woke up with his best friends...Riggs, Colin and Braden still here from the sleepover the night before...and to his favorite breakfast made by mom..homemade pancakes, sausage and eggs!
Miss Jenna arrived shortly after with a balloon bouquet and birthday lovin' for him...he adores her and she adored him!
I can't believe he is seven! But what I do believe with all my heart is that he is precious....
and full of a genuine kindness that grows and sweetens everyday.....
and man is he a cutie with a smile that lights up the room!

After Church Rollins wanted Hometown pizza for lunch so we headed there and the Schaffners joined us making it all the more merry!
Then it was off to play a little birthday flag football....

Followed by a little birthday soccer game.....Rollins had grabbed his own cleats and as I changed him from football to soccer we realized he had picked up 2 right cleats...so he had to wait until daddy got back with a left cleat to play....

With both cleats on he played, as always, with all his heart....

Rollins did not score..he was close...but Riggs did...and after the ball went in the goal Riggs turned around and his eyes went straight for the person he wanted to high five the most....
His brother......oh I love a good brother moment!
Back home we joined the family to celebrate with Moe's and cake...chocolate cake with white icing per the birthday boy's request!

His favorite gift was his Brandon Knight Jersey...it got the biggst and best smile!

He was so cute after he opened up all his presents going around the room and hugging everyone and thanking them for the presents...he is so thoughtful and just precious to the bone!
I can't believe where I was seven years ago today...laying on a table...my baby's heart rate dropping...we're losing him, said the nurse....being wheeled into an emergency c-section in the hopes that we could save my baby...it was a nightmare......
But when I woke up from the nightmare this .....this perfect, precious, little person...was waiting for me...and I was forever changed....and forever a believer in the power of prayer...

I hope to blog his birth story someday soon...but for now I just want to wish him the happiest birthday ever!I love you with all my heart, Rollins Alexander Hardy! Thank you for all the love you give to me everyday in so many ways!
