It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

First Swim Meet

I am new to the swim team thing...actually this will be my first official swim meet! There is a lot of preparation that goes into it....there were heat sheets to read and duplicate with sharpies on the boys' arms....signs to make to cheer them on which SK and Syd took are of.....bodies to decorate and swim bags to pack! Decorating their backs was fun...each boy deciding what to put back there!
Rollins

Riggs
Ready...... we headed up to the pool where the Glen Oaks Gators gathers and the cheers to get them fired up began!
The kids divided up into their age groups, got settled, and the meet began!

Rollins was just happy to be there...cheering for everyone!

Soon it was his turn....freestyle first! He got set.....
and swam his little heart out...

I'm not a swimmer myslef, but have heard one of the worst things you can do is to swim with fists...God love him!
He tried so very hard...and may I remind everyone that this time last year he wouldn't even put his face in the water.....so he came in dead last and was slow as molasses...but he got out with a smile...did I go good, moma?!....and I gave that little, wet boy a hug and told him he was amazing! And he is!

And then you have the other Hardy boy....Riggs came to play...he was focused and ready. Michael Phelps Jr. got his swim cap on just right..

and took careful measure of the pool and the swimmers around him.....
and he too tried very hard and gave his whole heart....and he was good

and then they did back stroke and both boys stroked right into the lane line! Oops!

Riggs also did a freestly Relay and his team got a ribbon for their performance! All in all it was great...it was their first swim meet and they just learned the strokes 2 weeks ago...so we were so proud of their efforts! Riggs has his heart set on the breast stroke...so maybe with a lot of work he can give it a try!

So now Jenna and I are officailly swim team moms!
