We always look forward to Thunder over Louisville! We always go with Nana and the Timmerings...and we make a day of it! It is always a fun day...no matter what! This year it was cold so we made a last minute decision to leave the girls at home...warm in their pajamas for an all day play date...and we headed down to the river to brave the cold and enjoy the air show!
We were at the Science Center so we had yummy food...like funnel cakes...and we went into the Science Center a few times to warm up...they also had really cool experiments going on all day outside that the boys loved!
They played football and made new friends while the planes danced above us....
It really was cold, but somehow we made it to nightfall....and had a great time!
As it got dark we produced light up Mohawks that we had for the boys! They LOVED them!!!
We then huddled up and waited to be enchanted by the fireworks....in the cold the wait was long, but it is always worth it! TV doens't do it justice...you have to be there to hear the booms in person...and feel the warmth in the sky...in person it is brilliant and beautiful!
At 9:30 on the dot the fireworks began....
They were amazing!
My sweet Rollins loves this show and is convinced they do it every year for this birthday...it always falls very close to the 17th. He fell asleep in my arms watching...I'll never forget it....
The finale began and the sky glittered and sparkled.....
and then faded into the night sky....leaving me hooked for next year...I'll be there for sure!
This fun day at Thunder was thanks to Nana who got the tickets for Riggs, Rollins and Jeremy for their birthdays...thank you, Nana! We love you!
