It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

We arrive in Chicago...

After a long trip to Chicago we arrived at the Westin on Michigan Avenue for a few days in the big city! The girls were thrilled at our view...they could see American girl from the window!
The girls were so excited about going to American girl! When we checked into the hotel the girls were presented with an American Girl t shirt and purse for their dolls...and of course the latest American Girl catalog. The brothers were so cute looking at the catalog with Lila...since this was her first trip to American Girl she  would be choosing a doll of her very own! This was Sarah Kate's second trip...and instead of a new doll she had decided to get accessories for her beloved Elizabeth and Lainey.
We got settled and headed out...Chicago was waiting for us!
We went in one of the beautiful churches in downtown Chicago. I wanted the kids to see the beautiful, majestic building and it's beauty...there is something inspiring about being in a place that is old...where generations of people have walked before you. The kids seems so little in this amazing church...
Outside of the church..it was decorated in beautiful blue ribbon...the boys were sure it was for Kentucky basketball!
We then went to the Hershey store....
Riggs was pretty taken with the world's largest Hershey bar!
Lila was pretty taken with the pigeons....
When it was time for Supper we climbed into a cab...which is always a fun part of being in the city!
It was Lila Ray's very first cab ride! She loved it!!

Supper was at Father and Son's...it was on the top ten places for kids to eat in Chicago..it promised paper covered tables for endless coloring and amazing pizza. There was no paper on the tables...but the smoothies and pizza were good...but not half as good as Gino's East!

Then it was off to Garrett's for the best popcorn in the world...we love the Carmel corn...and there was no line so that was a bonus...sometimes you have to wait in line for a long time for this yummy goodness!

Next stop was Niketown! They were excited just to use the revolving door!

We were tired after the drive and the day in the city so we headed back to the hotel.  What a treat to come in and find our beds turned down and the addition of two doll beds for the American girl dolls...they were turned down too...so cute!

We got the dolls settled, took warm baths, and it was lights out...we were all asleep by 9:00! It was a fun first day in Chicago!
