It's the little things that mean the most.....

When I pray for these children my prayer is for them to have kind, loving hearts....this is our life...our journey...our Hardy Hearts....

Daddy is home!

Today was the day.....Jeremy came home from so far away. We prepared the plate and the welcome home cookies!

My first glimpse of him was through the window...and I called to Lila that Daddy was Home!
Jack was the first to get to him.....
and then Lila Ray came running just as fast as her little legs would carry her......
into the arms of her daddy who she had missed so much...and they were both all smiles!
She laid her head on his shoulder...snuggled in...and kept saying Daddy over and over...it was the sweetest thing!

Noon came and we went to pick up SK from preschool...and again his other little girl ran into waiting arms and was so happy to see her daddy...but she was a little more shy about it....so precious.

At 2:20 we went to Goshen to pick up the boys...Rollins' face was priceless as he saw the truck and knew daddy was inside....

Riggs may have stolen the show though...at almost 9...and a boy...you expect him to be the most standoffish...more reserved with his love and excitement....but he was giddy with happiness to see his daddy and snuggled in just like Lila......it literally melted my heart.

It was so good to have him home. So good to have him home.  He went to sleep at 5:30 and he never woke up until the morning but he was home and we were Happy!

My big game

Today the Cats played North Carolina for a chance to go to the final four. It was a big game. Jeremy was still away...and I thought we would get together with Bumpa and Grandpa but that didn't happen either...so it was just me and the kids. I was a little down...tired from the long week...but the kids were excited.....
and looking at those precious faces..soon I was just as excited!
We started off just watching the game..the baskets went back and forth between North Carolina and The Cats....
But soon we were into it..and jumping..and yelling.....and it was so fun!

And it hit me...sitting there...this was my big game. Although I would loved for Jeremy to have been there with us...this was my chance to soak in every high five and celebrate evey basket with these Kentucky basketball lovin' kids....... I would never have another moment like this. I can't imagine Jeremy ever being gone during the tournament again...so this was my big game with the kids and I loved every second of it!
We were so proud and happy when the game was over and we were final four bound...knowing all our cheering...hoping and praying had made a difference! ;)

Kentucky was Beast as the boys always say and we were beyond excited!

We can't wait to watch the next game with daddy though...See you soon, Daddy and Go Cats!

Cold but warm

We woke up this Sunday morning to snow on the ground...winter had forgotten that it was officially sping and we were done with him.

It was cold outside but the sun was shining on us....Jeremy had called and was coming home a day early.
So our hearts were warm and we had spring inside the house anyway.....

and fresh Krispy Kremes for breakfast!

And a great cup of coffee in my Chi Omega owl mug which just makes me happy anyway!
It was a wonderful morning.....and I love to watch my sleepy , morning kids, love on each other as the day begins..they are more snuggly....more cuddly....especially to each other.

and this morning Riggs slept in...cozy in his bed...and I was so happy for him.
and altough Jeremy was still far away in India...he was getting ready to board a plane to come home. We had so many things to fill our hearts with warmth this morning...that the cold outside really didn't matter.

Easter poo

This is the green shampoo that I bought at the dollar store...and since we have been putting out the Easter decorations...this shampoo has been dubbed the "Easter poo"
This is Lila....who loves her baths...and has developed a fondness to the above Easter poo
She washed my hair many...many...times with the Easter poo...(thank goodness it was a dollar and not the good Aveda!) She was so funny because she would pour it in her hand..rub them together..and say I'm really into it. I am very laid back, but we all have our things that just make us crazy...the fingernails on the chalk board kind of crazy...and my thing is wrinkled hands from the bath. After they are wrinkled I hate to touch anything...and I am ready to get out! I was in the bath so long with Lila and that Easter poo that my hands were prune like....I told her this was true love.
But eventually we got out...and I wrapped her up. After her bath she likes to be wrapped like a burrito...and will run around saying she is the (insert color) burrito...tonight she was the brown burrito...but truth truth be know she likes to be the pink burrito best!

I tried!

I do very little by myself at this stage in my life. Seriously, I may be in the bathroom by myself...maybe if I am lucky...once a week. Riggs was gone... Mom was here and the other littles were all busy doing one thing or another. I walked by mom...and mouthed...not whispered mouthed...that I was going to sneak up and take a bath. A few minutes later she looked around and the kids were gone...and when she came upstairs to find them...this is what she found.

What's a moma to do...when those sweet faces want to climb in the warm bubbles with Moma...they won't want to forever.....I tried to take a bath by myself....maybe next time! ;)

Gran Gran's glasses

Sarah Kate loves to wear Gran-Gran's glasses....she puts them on every chance...just for a minute, Moma....she does look pretty cute in them!

Rollins....Jacks favorite toy!

Jack is the sweetest dog ....with everyone...but Rollins.  When he sees Rollins he just goes crazy with excitement and wants to play! Rollins, who has more energy than anyone I know, loves it....for the first 15 minutes at least!

another one to remember...

Now that SK can read and is learning to write. a whole new world has opened up to her! Today she wrote this special note to me in the back of her coloring book...so sweet! I wanted to remember it so I snapped a quick picture before we left the house for a bit. I am so glad I did...when we got home Jack had eaten the coloring book...that fussy dog!
